      Ute Wieczorek-King (Chair)

Having been a business owner since 1992, I run uwk, a consultancy that provides tailor made learning solutions to individual business people and organisations. I have a professional background in education, and am an experienced trainer, facilitator & certified performance coach. One of the services I provide is intercultural coaching a development process that raises awareness of cultural impact on business, and helps 'global' business people adjust and communicate confidently in an unfamiliar environment.

I have always been interested in facilitating positive change on many other levels. For example I helped to found a small pressure group, that kick-started the first environment awareness and recycling campaign in my home town in the late 1980s. Being concerned with international issues, I later co-ran a children’s charity project that raised funds for orphanages in Romania. Since then I have been involved in a variety of different fundraising activities, and have organised events to support Red Nose Day and several cancer charities, including Kidney Cancer UK.

Feeling strongly about 'responsible giving', I see a need to support less known charity groups that work at the grass roots level in developing countries, helping to 'make poverty history'.  When following the Tsunami, I saw the world unite in support of affected communities, I decided to found the ‘One World Party’ project. My intention is to raise funds for several small organisations, through holding  different multicultural events in the Thames Valley. The main fundraiser  'One World Party' is preceded by smaller 'parties', all celebrating ‘One World'. We hope to bring different communities closer together and raise awareness of our chosen causes at the same time.

He's involved with a few charities and instrumental in raising awareness by way of organising many fund-raising events in London. (www.pratham.org ). The charities which are supported are mainly engaged in Education for  children and women upliftment.
Respect for mankind comes to him much above religion, politics, colour and other differences. He originates from India and continues to have strong links there.

His intent is to facilitate and develop mutual appreciation between "East and West" to create better homogeneity and help each other win. His desire is to create an organisation in true east-west collaboration, which though would commercially viable, but money making wouldn't be the sole objective.

He's just celebrated his 15th marriage anniversary with Sunita and has two lovely boys elder one (13) represents Berkshire in chess and younger one (9) has just started to learn the tricks.
In his leisure time he enjoys cooking exotic dishes (Indian, Chinese, Thai, continental and Lebanese) ; discussing politics, economics, sociology and larger issues of society, so as to add value; unless he' isn't engaged in a charitable event directly.

AMANDA MAISTER

After graduating from Warwick University I volunteered for Oxfam as part of their Policy Department.  Eventually I joined the team organising Oxfam’s bi-annual ‘Assembly’ conference, with attendees and speakers from across the globe.  After working for Oxfam I moved into fundraising, working for a shelter for homeless young people and families in London called the Cardinal Hume Centre.  Whilst working for The Centre I helped organise all aspects of fundraising including regular events from celebrity golf days and concerts to local pub quizzes.  After over two years I left The Centre to move to a larger international animal welfare charity WSPA, as part of their major donor team.

Professionally I am now moving away from fundraising but want to use the skills I have learnt in a voluntary capacity to help causes I feel strongly about, in particular international development.  The One World Party is a wonderful opportunity to combine all these aspects of my life and get involved with something really enjoyable and different.  I hope to be able to put my charity experience and local knowledge into creating an unforgettable evening for those who attend and for those who will be helped by the money raised.
